Joyfully Embracing Our Mission

Jubilee Prayer | 40th Anniversary - Diocese of San Jose
Ever-living and faithful God,
we give you thanks for walking with us,
your people of this Diocese of San José.
Pour forth your Spirit on this local Church,
that our works of Faith and labors of Love
may lead others to Jesus, your Son,
and that our endurance in Joy and Hope
may lift up those weary from uncertainty.
Accompanied by Saint Joseph and Saint Clare,
may we continue “Journeying Together in Hope,”
and day by day be drawn closer to your Son,
our Light, our Hope, and our Salvation,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit
forever and ever.
Amen.
Dear St. Clare School Families,
This week, we are celebrating St. Patrick on March 17 and St. Joseph on March 19. One thing we know about both men are that they came upon their ministry in very difficult circumstances. Both could have turned away from God if they chose to blame Him for the "drama" that filled their lives. Bishop Robert Barron compares the two men in his March 2017 article, "St. Patrick, St. Joseph, and the Conversion that Makes all the Difference."
Another important thing to note is that we are celebrating our 40th Anniversary as a diocese. Prior to becoming the Diocese of San Jose, we were the southern part of the Archdiocese of San Francisco. Attached to this post is Msgr. Fran's update which contains Bishop Cantú's letter congratulating us on this special event. On Friday evening, you are invited to celebrate the 40th Anniversary Mass at 7:00 pm. which will be live streamed at: https://www.facebook.com/DioceseSanJose/.
The school has been praying the Jubilee Prayer to honor our patron. Ask your students to lead the family in the Jubilee Prayer this week, and especially on Friday.
MARCH 15: TEACHERS MEET TO COLLABORATE
Teachers from a cohort of schools from our diocese will spend Monday, March 15 learning together and building capacity to better serve our students. Please keep us in your prayers as we model lifelong learning and learning in community!
LENTEN JOURNEY: .one.love.educate.2021 | Food Insecurity Immersion | Speakers
Join us this Wednesday during our Wellness Wednesday Assembly to hear from Camille, a Catholic Worker from Casa de Clara who will share with us the story of Dorothy Day, the founder of the Catholic Worker Movement. In addition, Camille will share the mission of the Workers in our community.
If you haven't already done so, kindly read and engage in the Food Insecurity Immersion challenge for our families to learn about the difficulties our neighbors face in this Valley. Share your stories and aha! moments with us!
Sr. Ann Marie will visit the classrooms this week to encourage advocacy and educate our students in the importance of uplifting one another to fulfill the mission and work towards transformation this Lent.
